Snowdrops and Winter Plants Tour with Senior Gardener Tickets and Dates
Snowdrops have been growing at the Chelsea Physic Garden for over two-hundred years and are part of our celebration of Heralding Spring.
Known botanically as Galanthus, meaning ‘with milk-white flowers’, snowdrops are seen as early messengers of Springtime. In addition to their folkloric associations, the plant has been used for its medicinal properties since ancient times with its bulb being utilised in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Other parts of the Snowdrop are still studied to today with regard to its other potential medicinal uses.
As Winter begins to fade and the first signs of Spring start to appear, join a member of our Senior Horticulture Team at the Chelsea Physic Garden as they take you on a fascinating tour of the Garden’s collection of snowdrops and Winter plants.
